Support, we all need it sometimes!

Hello all, I am not normally one to make speeches or the likes but this blog entry I would like to do a few thank you’s for some people over the last 4-6 weeks!

Firstly the guys at Athlete Service, since pre christmas I have been getting regular treatments from Laurence and more so from Charlotte. Both are chiropractors, with Laurence specialising in biomechanics analysis and also having competed at a high level in several sports including cycling. When I get treated by anyone I am searching out if I trust them and trying to see if I feel they know what they are doing. As soon as I spoke to Laurence about all my knee issues he immediately filled me with confidence and made perfect sense. So I started following the rehab work doing all my homework on glute exercise and foam/ice rollering, with treatments from Charlotte to loosen off my tight muscles.

When they first looked at my knee, like many others they gave diagnosis. But with Laurence he was fully confidence I would not need surgery and within 4-8 weeks I would be riding again. So yesterday I was sat on a plane flying to Nice airport to restart my training properly. I have been tickling the training the last couple of weeks with weights and easy spinning but hopefully the next week or 2 I can really get some riding in. Looking back where I was between September and December I am so happy to be about to ride again, especially back in the South of France.

I would also like to thank Rob (Laurence’s business partner at Athlete Service), for his recent advice and especially for the huge amount of winter kit for my now leaner frame to keep warm in!

Lastly, thanks to Justin for yet again inviting me to Boileau Sur Mer for the training base, I seem to have spent a huge amount of time here with such great mileage under my belt.

As I have been busy recently helping Athlete Service moving into there new awesome building, I have not been blogging as much as I should be. So (some of you) will be pleased to hear I will be blogging more regularly now.

Hope you are all well and staying warm.
